Our Christian Mission
St Andrew's church, like all Christian groups and all Christian people is led by the mission given to the disciples by Jesus, after his resurrection:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
The church's role is therefore to nurture and support existing Christians and to bring new people to a loving relationship with God. It is this mission that ultimately lies behind all that we do at St Andrew's - our worship, our youth groups and holiday club, our adult groups and all the special events that take place.
We therefore encourage you to join us at one of our services, or to join us at one of the special events, or if you are particularly seeking to know more about the Christian faith, join one of our courses.

Mafambisa, South Africa
Our Christian mission extends beyond the shores of Great Britain to the village of Mafambisa in South Africa. Our partnership with Mafambisa allows 48 children to be sponsored; 15 by St Andrew’s Church, 27 by individual members of the church, 3 by The Room youth group, and 3 by Edward Peake C of E Middle School.
Sponsorship provides these children with a regular hot meal each day and help for the people who care for them. A group of 8-10 people go out to Mafambisa each year to show our support and gain a valuable Christian experience.
