St Andrew's Rainbows

Rainbow Guides are the youngest members of the world-wide Girlguiding Association, aged between 5 and 7. Our units is the 1st Biggleswade (St Andrew's) Unit. We play games, make things, sing songs and make new friends, as the girls attend several different schools. Because there are only fifteen girls, we all get to know each other quite well and it is always sad when one of our oldest girls steps over the rainbow for the last time to go to Brownies. We meet every Wednesday at 5.30 pm in the Chapter House.

Rainbows do not work for specific badges like Brownies, but each girl makes a Promise and receives a special badge to sew on her tabard. The Promise is “I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful,” and some of our activities reflect this promise. Our sessions are theme-based, so we may be doing crafts and games about Butterflies one week and something completely different such as Pancake Day the next. Girls in this age group are quite lively and we need a variety of activities to keep them busy and learning new things. We have a display board in the church Chapter House which we try to keep bright and eye-catching.

We have a long waiting list so it is advisable to put your daughter's name down as early as possible.

St Andrew's Brownies

The 1st Biggleswade (St Andrew’s) Brownies meet on Monday evenings during term time. They take part in a range of Brownie activities, including badge work. Other activities have included visits to the Falconry at Shuttleworth and to Biggleswade Police Station, attending the District Sports Day and the District Revels, helping at the Country Fayre, balloon modelling and a Christmas Party.

A waiting list is in operation for the group.

Times: Mondays, 6.15 - 7.45 pm

St Andrew's Guides

Our company, the 1st Biggleswade (St. Andrew’s) Guides meet on Wednesdays during term time. They take part in the full range of Guide activities, including badge work and annual camps.

This is a well subscribed group with a waiting list in operation.

Times: Wednesdays, 7.00 - 9.00 pm
