Music at St Andrew's

St Andrew's is fortunate enough to have a choir, a music group and a band, which enables us to explore a range of songs, hymns, psalms and anthems in our services. The choir and music group rehearse together on Friday evenings enabling singers to participate in one or both of the groups.

The Choir

The Choir is a robed choir whose main role is to lead the singing at our regular 9.30 am and 6.00 pm Sunday services, and at special services. The choir includes a junior choir for children who are encouraged to work towards their Royal School of Church Music medals as part of the "Voice for Life" scheme.

The Music Group

The Music Group is a group of singers who help lead the singing of worship songs in our family and parish communion services on a regular basis. Their repertoire is based on songs and choruses from "Songs of Fellowship" and similar material.

Choir and Music Group Rehearsals

Both groups are led by Yvonne Gray. Rehearsals take place on most Friday evenings but please check the Diary for details. Times tend to be approximate after the initial start time, depending on the material being rehearsed.

New members are always welcome, and it's not essential that you are able to read music! Please come along on a Friday evening if you are interested.
