Here are a few photos from our "Water into Wine" mission week that took place from the 8th to 15th of October. These photos are taken from the special Holiday Club event on Saturday 14th and the all-age communion service on Sunday 15th.
The Holiday Club event started with some actions songs and drama to introduce some of the characters that Jesus met; Nicodemus the Jewish priest, Zacchaeus the tax collector (see photo), the Samarian woman by the well, and doubting Thomas.

The children then went off to their groups to find out more about one of the characters, and to produce a collage or picture of their chosen character. When everyone got back together again there was time to briefly share what we had learned, and to marvel at Roly Bain, the Christian clown.

Roly demonstrated his amazing circus skills while telling Bible stories - even when juggling while balancing on a ball.
Roly was back in action again on Sunday morning when he talked about faith, and having the confidence to "step out in faith." Of course Roly illustrated this by stepping out onto his "slack-rope of faith" and assured us that everything's fine as long as you "keep your eye on the cross." As always Roly was both entertaining and challenging.

The Bishop of Bedford also joined us for the final Sunday service, and challenged us to consider where we are in our faith - whether we are complete newcomers to the church or long-standing worshippers. We are all called to take that next step forward in our Christian lives, following Jesus and the cross.
Of course these two events are only a small part of what happened during Mission week. A more complete report will be available soon, so watch this space.
